A farm may depend on irrigation, borehole pumping, milking, feed processing or cold storage. A lodge may depend on water, refrigeration, guest rooms, kitchen operations, communications and security. Combining them into one assumed load can hide the real peak and battery requirement.
Pumping, water treatment, laundry and some processing loads may be scheduled during strong solar hours, while the battery is reserved for refrigeration, communications, security and essential night use. The operating schedule is part of the system design.
Pump, cold-room and workshop motors can draw much more power when starting than during normal operation. Record the nameplate, motor starting method, cable distance, head or duty point and expected run schedule before choosing an inverter.
Water demand, harvest activity, lodge occupancy and weather can change through the year. A remote system also needs practical maintenance access, lightning and surge planning, ventilation, dust protection and a clear recovery plan if demand is higher than the system was sized to support.
