After gaining a deeper understanding of the electrical loads associated with Wilson’s hotel operations—specifically by analyzing his monthly electricity consumption reports—we initially determined that a system with a capacity of at least 40 kW would be required. Subsequently, taking into account the need to reserve additional power capacity to handle unforeseen contingencies inherent to hotel operations, we recommended a 50 kW solar energy system. This system design features two 25 kW split-phase inverters connected in parallel, paired with two lithium-ion battery units. Our design engineers performed a preliminary technical assessment and confirmed that this configuration is fully adequate and suitable for Wilson’s hotel facility. Upon finalizing this proposal, we immediately reached out to Wilson to discuss it. As previously noted, Wilson harbored some reservations and skepticism regarding imported goods; moreover, he had been consulting with other suppliers to compare various proposals. Consequently, during our conversation, he candidly informed us that he was indeed engaging with other vendors to conduct comparative evaluations before making a final decision. We expressed our understanding of his position and proceeded to clearly articulate the specific technical considerations and rationale behind our proposed system design.
PV Modules: High-efficiency monocrystalline solar panels with a total capacity of 50 kW, featuring a salt-mist resistant coating suitable for Jamaica's coastal climate, installed in a rooftop configuration.
Inverters: Two 25 kW split-phase pure sine wave inverters, equipped with external MPPT controllers, supporting automatic switching between solar, battery, and grid power sources.
